Panasonic Announces NN-SN973S and NN-SN773S Microwave Ovens
Panasonic announces two new microwave oven models for 2013, the Genius NN-SN973S (2.2 cubic feet) and NN-SN773S (1.6 cubic feet) microwaves both of which feature One-Touch Sensor Cooking and Inverter Technology and can be built-in or placed on the countertop.
The new microwaves are currently on display at The International Home + Housewares Show, which starts today and runs through March 5 at McCormick Place in Chicago. Show attendees can visit Panasonic booth #L12505 Lakeside to see the company's complete line of home appliances, including these new additions to the Genius Microwave line.

Panasonic NN-SN973S
The new Panasonic NN-SN973S and NN-SN773S Genius Microwaves feature One-Touch Sensor Cook which takes the guess work out of cooking meals in a microwave by automatically adjusting power levels and calculating cooking time (or reheating time with Sensor Reheat) for up to 12 different types of food, allowing a user to cook a meal perfectly with the push of a button. Panasonic's new 2013 microwaves and all existing models also include the company's proprietary Inverter Technology, which provides constant energy flow that variably adjusts the power intensity so food is cooked evenly. Other microwaves use 100% power all the time, but repeatedly turn the energy on and off in lower power settings resulting in cold spots and uneven cooking. Instead, Panasonic's consistent and precise heat provides more control while cooking, reheating and defrosting.
"Panasonic microwaves are changing the way people think about cooking — they are not just a means to reheat food anymore," said Julie Baumann, National Marketing Manager, Home Appliances, Panasonic Consumer Marketing Company of North America. "Our patented Inverter Technology, gives users opportunities to experiment more with full dishes that they can create right in their microwave, allowing even delicate foods to be cooked evenly and to perfection."
The Panasonic NN-SN973S and NN-SN773S Genius Microwaves also feature Inverter Turbo Defrost, allowing users to defrost foods extremely fast by using a sequencing system that incorporates the Inverter low-power delivery feature. The Keep Warm Function provides a pulsing delivery of very low microwave power to keep food temperatures at a constant level – without overcooking. So, foods like stew, gravy, and desserts remain warm in the oven until ready to serve.
Equipped with spacious interior cavities (2.2 Cu. Ft. for NN-SN973S and 1.6 Cu. Ft for NN-SN773S) the new Genius Microwaves allow users to cook large dishes without taking up additional counter space. The Sleek, stainless steel exterior fits within the decor of modern kitchens and the embossed tactile control panel design delivers a slight resistance and enhances feedback when pressed for quicker, more intuitive touch-sensitive operation.
The new microwave models, both available in June 2013, will have the following suggested retail prices: $249.95 for the NN-SN973S and $229.95 for the NN-SN773S.
