Panasonic Announces NN-SF550M Microwave With Innovative "No Turntable" Design
Panasonic today announces the availability of the NN-SF550M microwave, a counter top model with an innovative design that omits the traditional turntable, maximizing the entire oven capacity. The NN-SF550M Flat and Wide microwave is convenient for cooking multiple dishes at once, or a large casserole dish that typically would not fit when rotated on a turntable in a conventional microwave. Using an antenna that rotates under the flat and wide one-cubic-foot cavity space, heat is still evenly distributed to cook the food. And without the turntable, the flat inside allows for a quick and easy clean-up, while still offering optimal cooking features.

In addition, the NN-SF550M features proprietary Inverter Technology™, which provides constant energy flow that variably adjusts the power intensity so food is cooked evenly. Other microwaves use 100% power all the time, but repeatedly turn the energy on and off in the lower microwave settings. Instead, Panasonic’s consistent and precise heat provides more control while cooking, reheating and defrosting.

“With the new design of the ‘no turntable’ microwave, Panasonic recognizes the benefit of cooking more than one dish at a time. These days, time is precious – and addressing this consumer need is extremely important,” said David Williams, Marketing Manager, Panasonic Home & Health Company. “With the NN-SF550M microwave, we offer a solution that does not compromise cooking performance, yet increases the cavity space available for cooking, and also reduces the clean-up time.
The Panasonic NN-SF550M Flat and Wide counter top microwave, with a black front and silver body, also features the Inverter Turbo Defrost™ which allows for extremely fast defrosting using the Inverter’s continuous-power delivery. The Auto Cook feature, accessible on the front control panel adjusts power levels and calculates cooking and reheating times automatically.
The NN-SF500M has earned the Good Housekeeping Seal, meaning it is backed by a two-year limited warranty. The NN-SF550M microwave is available now for a suggested retail price of $189.95.
